Other Amendments
There are amendments other than the first ten that were made after or around the time the first ten were made. These amendments were made when the government saw a strong need to do so, like when issues in race and gender appeared or when other problems occured. There are currently 17 amendments other than the first ten. As a total, there are 27 amendments.
The Amendments 11-27:
11. Lawsuits cannot be construed to extend to any suit in law or equity commenced against another state
12. There shall not be two separate ballots for the President and Vice President and the two shall be paired in the same vote and in the same party
13. Slavery and involuntary servitude shall be abolished and declared illegal in the Unites States and places under its jurisdiction
14. Civil Rights - all persons born or naturalized in the United States are equal and share the same rights to life, liberty and property as any other
15. Suffrage cannot be denied or abridged to any citizen of America regardless of race or color
16. Congress has the power to lay and collect taxes on income
17. The Senate may be comprised of two Senators from each state, and each Senator shall have one vote. In the case of vacancy in a place in the Senate, the Governer has the ability to fill that place with a temporary appointment until it is filled by an election.
18. The manufacture, sale, or trasportation of intoxicating liquors is prohibited in the United States and any place under its jurisdiction
19. The right to vote cannot be denied or abridged by gender
20. The President and Vice President shall both end their terms on the 20th of January after the election year, and Congressmen shall end their terms on the 3rd of January
21. The eighteenth amendment shall be repealed by this article and the manufacture, sale, and transportation of liquor in the United States shall now be made legal
22. No President shall be elected to office more than twice nor a person who was not elected that held the office to fill in for the elected President
23. The residents of the District of Columbia may choose the electors for the President and Vice President
24. The right to vote in a primary election or other election for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress shall not be denied or abridged by failure to pay poll tax or other tax
25. In case of removal of the President from office or of his/her death or resignition, the Vice President shall become President
26. The rights of citizens of the United States who are of 18 years of age or older shall not be denied or abridged the right to vote
27. No law shall be passed or put into effect that will change the salaries of representatives until after there has been another election
